My name is Pete Gardner,i am a coach Driver and lorry driver, till i
was forced to take medical retirement in 2000,i used to fly radio
controlled aircraft's and helicopters until my hands and feet became
to painful, after two operations on my hands, and more to follow in
both feet and hands for the rest of my life.i then got into
flightsim in 2008 ,flightsim saved me in lots of ways, with out it
i would have been going up the wall with boredom,my wife crystal and
my 3 wonderful kids have kept me in check. i started of flying with
Birmingham virtual airlines and finally when we moved to fsairlines i was
running the VA. i had good pilots and learned alot about running a virtual airline.
i ran that until February 2010 when i got fed up with looking after someone Else's
VA...so i decided to part company with the airline and to start up
my own.A friend of mine lance asked me to come onto his airline that
he had started,i kept on saying no.eventually i did join him to help
build it up, the airline at the time was 3 weeks old and it was
named phoenix freight lifters.lance kept asking me to take it over
and build it up has my own airline, but i kept telling him that i
wanted to start my own,in my name, my airline...this was in march of
2010,to my surprise the first of April i received a message from lance
the airline is yours, and its in your name,so the first thing i done
was renamed the airline to whats its now called today,
phoenixfreightandcharter, quite a few of the pilots that flew with me
on Birmingham virtual came over to the new airline, and are still
with me today.I am really proud of the airline, and the pilots that help
everyday to build this airline up, and to be one of the best on VAFS
CEO/Textures Dave Glynn (PFC-224)
Hi my name is Dave Glynn I am 42 yrs of age a
retired Royal Air Force Ground Equip Engineer having served 22yrs, and currently
live in Wiltshire. so having been around military and civilian aircraft over the
years I gradually became interested in using Microsoft Flight Sim, and Soon
after I became a member of a Online VA called Birmingham Virtual which I learned
a lot from the guys there over the 18months.
When Pete
decided to leave and was given the reins of organising a new VA I decided
to move over and offer my help in building up the airline. My position here is to
help with any of the pilots requests on routes, general VAFS client problems,
FSX and Multiplayer setup on the VAFS FSInn Server.
Over the last year or so I have been involved
in creating and producing the Many Phoenix Skins you can see being used on our
Fleet, starting with no experience on painting or using Adobe Photoshop I spent
many hours of tutorial reading and trial and error paints. Today we now have
over 21 Phoenix Skins with a few more in the pipeline.
